Dr. Thomas J. McDonald was born in Detroit and graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1978. He then attended the University of Michigan – Dearborn, where he was president of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. After graduating, he went back to school at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and graduated from there in 1985.
Dr. McDonald opened his first practice in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1987, where he practiced for 18 years. In 2005, he sold his Royal Oak practice and opened Mid-Michigan Dental Excellence in Alma, MI.
He has been practicing dentistry for more than 30 years and has never stopped continuing to take education coursework. He is trained in orthodontics, endodontics, sedation dentistry, crowns and bridges, CEREC technology, implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and more. For a general dentist, he does it all!
Dr. McDonald truly believes in putting the needs of his patients first, and in just one visit, he can improve your smile and overall health. He also screens for oral cancer and provides dental treatments that can help prevent cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America.
Currently, he resides in Northville, Michigan, with his wife, Coleen, their three children, Kathleen, Patrick, and Kevin, and their two golden retrievers, Buddy and Murphy.
